After Market Glow Plug Timers TD27 Nissan

Hi everyone

I just bought an after market glow plug timer that allows you to custom set a time for how long the glow plugs pre heat for, it ranges from 3 to 15 seconds. Normaly these go for about 80 bucks on trade me but i got mine exactly the same for half that.
Im just wondering does installing these affect the after glow or is that a wholes separate relay? My Nissan pre glows for about 5 to 6 seconds, would increasing it to about 10 would significantly help with starting and running in cold weather, ( temp below freezing ).

Also if anyone has got one of these installed on they're truck id always like to know if it has had any advantages or disadvantages for you.

My mistral has a aftermarket glow plug timer, simply because it was cheaper then the factory one to replace when it crapped out.

set at 6 seconds never had an issue starting, doesn't effect the after glow and if it is cold there is a switch on the dash to keep em on.

maybe time to change your glow plugs.?
