It’s being mounted as a back up to the main winch in the new challenge truck JRC is building. – Not exactly a new truck, but more like dads old axe, with 2 new heads and 4 new handles lol.
It comes from the factory with Air free spool, which disconnects all the gears / drive and uses “proper bearings”!
We are still a few months from powering the entire truck up, so can’t confirm yet how well it works, but the specs are impressive. (I changed to this after first ordering a goodwinch with a Bow3 motor) pretty confident that the Red with a Bow 2 motor will still handle everything it needs to. Plus with going to a New Zealand distributor – Phill, who used to give awesome service, even before going out on his own, means there won’t be any hassles with consumables / replacement parts in a few years’ time.
Truck is Hilux based, with a 3uz-fe, breathing easier, running a close ratio 5 speed auto (first time this auto has been used we think – so this may change yet / fingers crossed). Custom PTO winch, Radflow Coil overs in all corners and hyd bump stops, with “A” arm in rear. Plenty of other trick stuff happening to .
