89 Escudo Front Diff Leak

Post by ZUKPWR »

Hi guys.

Having an issue with my front diff since I lifted it (Ironman 50mm lift kit shocks n springs).

When I did the lift on it I managed to pull the drivers side shaft out of the diff, it went back in fine and still drives front wheels when in 4wd but is leaking oil from the diff end of the shaft.

Is there a circlip on the inside of the diff that holds that shaft in there that I've managed to pull off somehow?

I've tried looking at exploded diff diagrams but haven't come to much of a conclusion as to what it might be...

pretty sure there is a circlip on there , put a new seal on it and see if that fixes it

They were built with a design flaw, the cv is not supported enough in the housing.

Have a read of this http://www.suzuki-forums.com/1g-1999-2005-vitara-grand-vitara/37371-front-dif-loose-drive-shaft.html

You can use that part number at Suzuki NZ to get the bush and I would recommend replacing the seal as well.

I did this to mine and worked a treat.
