hello has anyone been up cockeye creek in the last couple of months ???

last night me and my mate went up there just for a drive.
after the second water crossing the track has been washed out is there another way around it?????

also what is at the end of the track????

If I'm thinking of the same spot - it's a short climb out of the creek on true left (right side as ya look up stream) back onto the track - slip on your left as you exit creek? If it is, just stay in the creek another 25 meters or so, there's another exit on your right. Otherwise, dunno!

Cockeye Creek track comes out on one of the bush roads. They are logging in there atm, so there are gates in the area. When I was in there last we came out via the Woods Creek Walk road (not sure of correct name of road). If you were to drive to the end of Rutherglen Rd you would come across the walk way I'm talking about. There's a few other exits options when no gates are there.

All good. Rest of track follows what looks like an old logging Rd, sections of it have gone so your in and out of the creek all the way up. With this dry spell you'd be fine without a snorkel, if it's been raining then it's potentially a different story. If your in doubt just walk the crossing first.

Usually, you don't need a winch. I've been through another time, coming down the creek and there was one climb out that we did winch. That was after it looked like a pretty decent flood had been through. The other day we drove it no worries. A couple of trucks would be a good idea though considering you've not got a winch..... yet!

Yip, I was through there between Xmas n new year. There is mining in the area but it doesn't affect the access. I get onto the track at the ford by the mine, turning up stream. If you cross the ford it takes you up towards mt fox.

The track hasn't seen a lot of use recently and is overgrown in a few spots. A slip came down in the creek over a year ago about 45 mins in, just before you leave the creek to climb the hill on your left. We put in a short section to by pass it. Its still tight and scratchy but not bad considering we only used bull bars to form it

I've not been in there myself but directions I have seen from an old post on here
....You can drive straight up the creek from the bridge at dunganville or drive up the woods creek road and drop into a side stream and go downstream to liverpool bills up to where it exits near mt fox...

Just so you know...IMO your more likely to want a snorkel and winch to do Liverpool Bills. Probably add 33's at a minimum to that list too, my safari was dragging diffs on Silverstone 35's

If your just starting out Cockeye might be a better choice

Not planning on going into Liverpool bills just now but I did notice that the track off woods creek road is closed by mining so the entry from the ford would be the only option.

i just went up cockeye yesterday instead.

Went a look up Liverpool Bills weekend just been and got about 2/3 of the way up. We cleared a few decent log jams (Steve's mighty Prado did some decent towing) but hit a big jam that needs a few more hours spent on it than we had time available so headed out again.

I did a loop today, went through Noname Rd from Marsden to Kumara, then back through Clifton Rd and down Cockeye Creek out to Marsden. 2x 73 series Cruisers and an LN106, all on 31s.

Mostly pretty easy going, it's getting very overgrown in places, anyone going up there should take a slasher and knock back the bush and gorse a bit. We cut a bit of veg and some fallen trees off the tracks here and there but only had an axe so didn't do too much

There's one section coming down Cockeye Creek where the track is quite undercut, with about a 2m drop to the side, it will likely need some spade & axe work or it's going to end up in the creek soon. We widened it a bit and built up the downhill side a bit where it's slipped but it's a bit dodgy.
