I think wopass may have had a locked front at one stage, I am considering it on the Pajero.
From other forums (http://www.4x4wire.com in the states) others have had mixed results, and some swear by them.
Aparently not very good in snow as the truck will try to pull straight ahead, and in normal conditions the steering is reduced.
Some of the guys run around with the passenger side hub locked in (effectively in 3wd mode) and then lock in the driverside when required.
You need to talk to guys who have done it.
I cant see much of a diference when climbing a hill with a locked diff as opposed to guys who run diff locks ? I would have thought a greasy slope is where a locked diff would be a benefit

3 videos detailing a vehicle with open diffs both ends, then with rear locked and front open and then with front locked and rear open.
Interesting viewing.

It asks me to login, but I'm not a member there. Could you copy and paste it over?
installed an auto locker from steve at 4x4stuff into my ifs surf, only blown one cv but there cheap and easy to install, then again i broke the odd cv without it. It does make the steering heavier and i find that i need to go a bit slower on riverbed trips, now that i'm used to it its great and gets me a lot further than without it. My aim was to get to the same places without pushing it so hard and its work fine so far.
