Shipping from trail gear
Shipping from trail gear
looking at getting some low range gears from trail gear and they say they only offer one shipping option which they want to charge $130 American for. Seems steep. Any body been through this before and found a suitable solution?

yeah, a little.... get hold of 4wdbits or the like and see who they use, they might even be able to piggyback it on one of there orders (or the likes)
even still i just got on ebay and had a squiz at a transfer set for a toyota hilux 4.7 ratio and they are only charging 78nzd for P&P estimated to arrive 23 april.

Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.
Re: Shipping from trail gear
First option seems a bit rude to me really. If I was them I would feel a bit cheated if someone asked me to do that. Will steer clear of that for now.
Problem with second option is I also need a 23 spline adaptor and couldn't find that listed on eBay . Might ask one of the eBay guys if they can get one to send with it.
TG were $60 to freight just coupler so no point getting gears of eBay and adaptor off TG.
Cheers Pete

Re: Shipping from trail gear
Most websites just use some sort of Generic shipping calculator with only one carrier.
Try emailing them directly and asking for a shipping quote, they can probably do it for cheaper then what the website calculator says.

what about getting them to ship free to youpost.. then getting youpost to ship to you? also make sure you get youpost to repackage.. otherwise you might be paying for a massive parcel when not needed.. its what I did to get some gear from amazon.. worked out cheaper for me anyway..

Re: Shipping from trail gear
A few months back i needed the Trail Gear full hydro kit, 6.5 reduction gears, high steer arms and drive shaft adapters, after working out shipping i contacted Warren at 4WD Bits, he gave me a landed in NZ price and if you consider everything, including service/piece of mind dealing with a NZ business, customs duty and handling on heavy items, shipping, warranty issues (if any) then i think i got an excellent deal so i just ordered everything through 4WD Bits. I did in fact order one item wrong (my fault completely), it was way easier sending it back to Auckland to get a refund.
A mate ordered a winch direct from China and ended up paying @ $750 GST/duty/heavy item handling charge with customs which was always in the back of my mind.
Cheers

ask Suzolla, he may have what you want on the shelf or get it.

If you already know everything, DON'T ask bloody questions!!
