Sumner Road April 2015

Post by petefj40 »

There was a fly over done last month of the same area but I thought the quality wasn't the best as the drone used was only a Phantom.
So yesterday I did a fly over with my drone.
Can't wait for this road to be open again.

All of us operators are impressed too. I've had it flying in over 60km winds and it's surprisingly stable.
Flight times depends on conditions like if it's windy it reduces the time and how you fly it as well. Generally around 20 mins. Distance can be well over 2km but as a rule you have to view it with your naked eye (LOS) or line of sight but in other parts of the world they don't have that rule. With no antenna booster some guys have had over 5km. With a booster over 15km but then you have battery issues getting home safe.
It stop speed with no wind is 95k.
It's a great tool. It's nick name in the drone forums is "tripod in the sky".
