Ssangyong Korando
2.9 TDI

As near as I can judge, just driving at a fixed engine speed, the difference between hi and low, seems to be 4:1.

Bloody owners manual is inconclusive and not terribly informative.

EDIT:

Found an online manual. AT LAST!!!

transfer box ratio is 2.48:1 - 4.73 LSD

Nissan safari/patrol

2.02:1

Which is not low enough esp when you fit bigger tyres, with 35's in low range I can cruise at 55 Km/h,have been as high as 85 Km/h still under 4000rpm and that's not taking into account speedo corection with the lager tyres. Its a auto which has a taller overdrive than manual.

80#-100# Toyota landcruiser

2.488:1

Plenty of guys on here with dual transfer setup. If i was building a new rig it would be very high on the list. They make life so much easier when you need to really crawl up or around something.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!
