4M40 Maintenance

Post by COOCX »

Hey Guys, Im about to undergo some maintenance on my 96 Challenger. Including replacing the Radiator, Water Pump, Thermostat, and Timing Chain (kit), Rocker Head Gasket. Just a quick question, it was suggested that I should do the oil pump too, is this worth doing? Im not entirely convinced??

Any other precautionary stuff I should look at doing while the 'lids off'??

Any advice would be great!

Cheers

replacing the oil pump as part of a service is bit unheard of unless you've got low oil pressure problems or if there is a known problem with the pump on those engines, if you've got low oil pressure problems you might have some more major issues to deal with :D
