Fuel

In truth most modern engines are capable of running on both. Slightly less power in 91, but a little cleaner as I understand it. I used to run a vehicle on 91 but it resulted in some tappet noise that wasnt present when running on 96. Just some observations. I believe you should be able to notice which your vehicle runs better on and should stick with that but dont think any damage will be caused by the other. Just dont fill it with diesel LOL My ex gf did that once to my car many years ago.

I recentry got translated owner\'s manual for 91-96 Pajero.
According to this V6 3.0L takes 91 and 3.5 takes 96.

Run mine on AV when I'm feeling wealthy every now and then, engine runs quieter, cleaner, cooler, faster. We have some of the lowest octane fuels in the world here and most jap equivalent U/L's are around the 98 mark.
