I need to stick better some hard plastic on the exterior of the car. My garage told me to use a specific sealant for windscreen but in that case, it will never... never be removed.. (or perhaps with all the parts ).
Any recommendation? and do you know that product that is used by professionals? (sorry, I forgot the name but can still ask them).
The stuff you want is the black windscreen sealant I think the generic term for it is mastik, a brand name for this stuff is Selastic
It doesn't fully cure so remains flexable, a good example of how good it is... I've glued the rear reflectors on my hydro truck on with it, I was this with a pulsing lance at 2000psi (will lift paint if I get to close) and they are still there
Alot of body shops use this for body kits too
I'm a fan of the sika products myself, any of: SNB; 291 or 11fc should hold you (no pun intended) Probably easiest found at marine supply/boat building outfits.
When buying check for expiry dates as the newer it is the more fluid it rans and easier to use.
The sales guys will arque otherwise but ive used two tubes on a job one was "new" and the panels went on nice and smooth but the 2nd tube was at expiry date and we had a lit of issues trying to get the panels to lay flat. The bead of material was a lot more rubbery and hold the panel off the steel supports.
Tip use the whole tube as once its open will will start setting. Store open tubes in the fridge will help a little
If you want to remove what you are sticking in place then mastik will be the option ( it stays soft but seals).. but if you want to have it so it is strong well glued into place then a urethane sealant(goes hard but is flexible) is the go, they are 2 totally different products so don't get them mixed up.
We use urethane at work to glue solar panels on to camper vans, once cured you could pick the camper up by the panel.
We use the Wurth one as they do it in white, most glass places will only have black.
We currently use Würth - KD bond and seal, and it is very strong! Stays flexible, so could be cut thru with a blade to remove in future. We use it to seal joins in panels on Ag machinery where we don't want to run a weld.
