Snorkel on a 1996 Prado

Post by GreyGhost »

Looking at fitting a snorkel just in case I find a deep bit one day.
Prado is Series 90 with 1KZ diesel.
I found this on TM

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 890158.htm

I asked the seller about fitting my Prado (mid 1996) but he reckons it won't fit.
Series 90 is a Series 90 surely?
Can anyone say why it shouldn't fit?
Or, I'm in the market for a 2nd hand snorkel if anyone has one to sell.
Thanks.

hi it should fit if its the same shape as pictured, its been a few years since i fitted one to that shape. from memory you loose the indicator on the side when fitting.
this shape started in 95? i think, with petrol or diesel option.
i guess just make sure your air cleaner is on the same side as the purchased snorkel.

90 series is a 90 series. 1996-02. The 90 is the SWB version (95 being the LWB) but everyone calls them 90s.
The diesels have the air box on on the left side (passenger side). It should fit. Have a look on eBay too and Aliexpress. Same thing.

On a mates Prado. He got it off Trademe from a bloke in Amberley I think. Fitted it himself with no worries.
