Blow by and vapor leak

Post by Pj_Marsh »

Started me truck this morning, as I do, just to listen to it, and noticed a bit of white smoke being pulled around by the fan. It's coming from the front in the middle of the pulleys, and it looks like it's been happening for a while as that area is now shiny with oil. When I pop the oil cap off I get a lot of blow by and the smoke from the bottom stops- What do you guys reckon? Motor is a 12h-t that's been sitting for about 5 years before I popped it in me '40. Other things it does is smoke enthusiastically when cold

Valve stem seals or worn rings. if cold once they warm up the tolerance closes up
