Safari GQ broken PTO drum

Post by Twodiffs »

Guess it had to happen one day...took a fair few years though.
I can get an oem drum to replace it but I may as well look at getting an extended larger drum made for it.
Would appreciate knowing what others have done including preventative measures to stop the wire going over the side of the drum AGAIN.

I've got a custom steel bullbar and have no problem taking to it with a grinder to make some room.

Cheers.

Make sure the fairlead is a bit narrower than the drum, stops the rope jumping the edge of the drum. Get a shaft out of an earlier model PTO, they are longer & make a wider steel drum.

So a pto shaft from an MQ/MK Mudtroll?.
Is that a direct swap to a GQ winch?.
