1996 Terrano TD27eti Code 34

Hi, I’ve got fault code 34 showing on my 1996 Terrano TD27eti diesel, which I understand is the Needle Lift sensor or circuit. If you clear the codes, it comes back immediately.

How do I test the sensor before I look for a replacement injector?
The two terminals in the plug by the number 1 injector, won’t show any resistance on the ohms readings on a cheap multimeter, i.e. open circuit when the engine isn’t running. Does this mean that the sensor is bad, or is there other tests I need to do e.g. when vehicle is running.

Any recommendations of a workshop manual to get for this vehicle.
Anyone got a sensor injector for sale?
