sj416 heavy duty Clutch

Post by godzook »

I'm putting a G16a in my 413 and im using the 1300 Clutch etc.I'm thinking of putting a heavy duty clutch on it because of the extra power.I'm just wondering if any one has got one on there 413 and what brand and where they got it from?

When I looked at my flatdeck setup (Will be running a G16B) I talked too guys at sterling clutch and brake in Onehunga, apparently the vit clutch matched up too something toyota, and that they had run a higher pressure pressure plate with this model. That particular project has been sidelined at the moment, but having seen numerous vit powered 413s running round now, Im sure most of them are running the off the shelf replacements and havent heard/seen any problems?. PM "Ben" off here, he sells the 1600 adaptor kits

the bnt heavy duty ones are quite good, i finally stuffed mine last week end and it has done about 1000ks of which 600 woulb be hard off road ks over 2 and a half years, so i am replacing with same this week. auto clutch in auckland will make a clutch kit to suit a 1600inj suzuki for $567 including stone grinding your flywheel to suit the fibretuff clutch they use which is the way i would go if i had some spare cash, which ever way you go make sure you machine your fly wheel at the same time. cheers

I tried about 5 different clutches in my 1600, had no joy with any of the heavyduty 1300 clutches I tried.
I ended up with one supplied by Waikato brake and clutch which used a mitsibishi cordia turbo pressure plate all you have to do is redrill the flywheel to suit it which isint a biggie.
If you call them they should remember because it wasnt the first time they had done the set up
