Project Weapon of Mass Destruction

Post by nzhunter »

Well after abandoning the Suzuki LJ50 Project after the amount of work and cost factors I picked this up today:

Now i'm not going to tell you how much I paid for it 'cause everyone will hate me

So heres the story of how it ended up looking like this.
I bought it off a guy (lets call him B) who bought it off another guy (lets call him R)
When R owned it was a fantastic straight roadworthy mint conditon shopping trolly. Now R decided he liked the look of another guys girlfriend and gave her one. The boyfriend then found out that R had done this and the boyfriend and his mates took to the shopping trolly with an axe, smashing all of the windows and lights, denting all of the panels and then jumped on the bonnet. R came to find it like this, "bugger" he thought "what the F*** am I gona do with it now?" R then started to take bits and pieces off it to sell and left them in the boot. R soon got sick of it and the hassle of selling parts so sold the whole vehicle to B.

Now B already had a LWB Vitara and thought he could use it as parts When he went to use parts he found he huge of the parts had very minor differences and wouldn't fit in his vitara but one thing that was good was that the escudo engine was the same as the one in his vitara but had done around half the KMs. So being a mechanic B swapped the engines hooking it all up in his vitara but only putting the engine in place in the escudo but needing to be plumbed up.

So this is where I bought it.

Now the plan for this one is to maybe trial it or just use for just hardcore wreaking things bush truck.

The list of things to do:

1. Hook up engine, take it for a burn
2. Get a mig locker
3. Hook up some sort of lights (for possum shooting)
4. Give it a lift (body or coil spacer)
5. Put my brand new 700-16 SATs on
6. Maybe cut the rear half of the roof off.
7. Rollcage
8. Many more things to come .......

Vehicle Specs:

Suzuki Escudo 4wd (not sure of year really)
Auto (newly rebuilt gearbox)
SWB
1600cc, 16 valve, 4 cyl, EFI engine
Absolutely standard
Dinged up

Sorry about the poor quality of photos its always dark when I leave for work and come home from work. :?

I will keep this updated but I'm going down to Christchurch for 10 days on Friday so I nothing will get done until I come back.

Cheers,

DAN

Last night: Bolted up bellhousing, hooked up loom, bolted flex plate to torque converter, bolted on extractors, did a few more things.

Just need to put in starter motor and put radiator in but that wont be till I get back from down south :?
