safari clutch

Post by albundy »

Replaced the clutch master cylinder the other day and bleed. Noticed the next day clutch slipping slightly. Adjusted the freeplay in the pedal but continued to slip. Then I re-bled the clutch with the engine running IE: vaccum working, and it all seems fine now. Questio: do you think the clutch slippage was due to hydrualic backpressure from bleeding without the vaccum pump running :?: :?: Of note the factroy rear locker (vaccum/electric) would not engage until I had released the back pressure in the clutch system.

Vaccum assisted clutch and rear diff lock join at a T piece. Anyway, fix was short lived as I am replacing clutch tomorrow.
