Swapping a 22R into a 22RE Truck (Please Help)

I have a 1987 4Runner with a blown up 22RE; fuel injected. A buddy of mine has a 1986 Pick up with a 22R in it. The frame on his truck is rusted and wont pass inspection. What exactly would it take to put the 22R into my 4Runner in place of the 22RE? What differences are there, and what would have to be done to get it to work? Please let me know anything you can.

There is a raft of information on these available in the US as thats pretty much all they got over there for the Surfs and Hiluxes (4-runners and Mini-trucks as they call them)

I would imagine you could just swap all the 'lekkie gear from your donk onto the 22R - or just ditch all the electronics and run the 22R as it was in the 'lux.
