**The new ORE build**

Post by mike »

Ok ya all, guess its a bit weird this post as the build threads are normally about 4wds. This one is different, its about the build of the new ORE for those of you out there that are techo junkies.

1st roll out of Video site in two weeks. Got videos uploading and processing by users. Just need to put some layout and graphics on site and hook current logins to work on the new site. This will be an alpha release (testing for bugs and usability) so your input will be important.

ore 4wd Training site with all current and future trainings scheduled hopefully in the next week or so (as i dont have a job at the moment and ill have to fall back on 4wd training, there are some free government funded industry nzqa accredited courses people can do which teaches them how to operate a 4wd safely).

Next on the list **

GPS photo gallery, then start on upgrade of classifieds into new site. Will put video classifieds in as well so you can get rid of your wrecks by showing them how you turned them into wrecks

Thats enough for now.

Cheers Mike - you're doing an outstanding job - keep up the good work.

Just realised that your hosting up my club's website, the Otago Recreational 4wd Club, so thanks for that as well.

Also, good luck with your new job prospects.

the chaps put 25kg of powder (via semi automated machines) into bags and seal them through a heat sealing machine / conveying line, then chaps out in the store stack the afore mentioned bags onto a pallet..

Just a bit of an update for you bums out there.

This should give you something to feast your eyes on.

New site ain't pretty (no graphics to speak of yet) but behind the scenes it is coming together quite nicely.

Here you can browse the 300 + vids pulled from the gallery. click each link and it plays in the site. nothing is formated yet so this wont be the navigation at all, but this is all our videos easily accessible in one location. The start of orevideo :D

Enjoy

something that I dont like about the vids is you cant pause it and wait for the rest of it to download, you have to keep watching. Can you fix it?

Looking good Mike, found some video I put on there in the early days, that's a bit embarrassing, it's crappy

Just a question, will it include the text name for navigation purposes, or just reference the file name?

it was a mass import, so at a later stage they will need to be updated.

No problem, I was just looking through for the clips I put in the album from the Ashley a couple of weekends ago, and realised even though I named them in the album they were under the file names e.g. Clip0034.avi instead of the name I gave it.

Just checking If I had to be a bit more tidy and rename before I upload in the future?

Just give me a shout if you want to test anything else, always happy to help.
