Power built not only for price vs quality but they also have a lifetime warranty on most hand tools and a decent warranty on tool boxes. 8) (Can't remember length of toolbox warranty)

i have alot of powerbiult sockets but im not to happy with how they feel compared to koken or snap-on ones they just dont seam to have the same bite and they flex a bit more

i have snap-on screwdrivers and some bluepoint ratcheting spanners

i have some repco long spanners they are good

snap-on ratchets

knipex pliers

all sorts of punches and hammers

snap-on battery impact wrench and drill

and all sorts of other stuff

i am thinking of getting some more koken sockets they are good.

but usualy i do alot of reserch on witch is the good stuff before i buy it and dont just go on brand

however the fact i have a snap-on and sulco account that lets me pay stuff off helps me buy off them

my powerbuilt toolbox is not doing to well as it goes in the car sometimes and it dosent like that

i was thinking of king tony stuff but we have some at work and it hasnt really lasted that well when the going gets tuff in my mind but its not all bad stuff

My missus bought me a Sidcrome socket set last Xmas - I luv it - lifetime guarantee & feels like a solid bit of gear. She bought it under advise from my mechanic mate who swears by Sidcrome ie they have always made good on their guarantee.

My King Tony toolbox has no warrenty whatsoever :( But my tools, from ratchets to punches and eveything in between, have a lifetime warrenty. :D

Have a couple of sets, My big set is JBS Which I have had for years I like them they feel very solid but I don't like thhe mechanisim in the ratchets I feel it is to heavy for smaller bolts which is annoying becuse then you have to hold the bolt while you do it up and something that is not possible. The Jbs spanners are very nice and I have never broken one yet (touch wood) im pretty sure that kit has a life time warrenty. My other smaller kit is a mixture of koken and sidchrome gear (sockets, strong bar, ratchets, spanners) They are all very nice to use and I love my strong bar! makes those big bolts a breeze to get off! :D

i used an ampro 1/2" ratchet the other day it had a really easy movement.
i dont know how good it would be when you put lots of force on it but it was good for quickly nipping stuff up

Good man you chose wisely :thumleft: JBS have an awesome warranty policy.
Ive had my sets for over 14 years. Have never had one fail but have had the odd one replaced free of charge due to me leaving the ratchets under a self propelled mower whilst repairing it than of course firing it up  . Blackwoods never blinked an eyelid, new one arrives the next morning on courier.
I also have snapon/Bluepoint(overpriced),Koken, King Tony, King Dick,Aigo, Sykes, etc, etc. All are fairly good but wouldnt recommend anyone paying for overpriced tools solely because most tools come with some sort of replacement warranty.

Im just about to spend $3500 on snap on. Looked at everything, snap on do a killer deal for people starting off in the business, nearly as cheap as the cheaper brands but way better. :)

I have a mixture of most brands koken screwdrivers, wilde pliers, ingerson rand, aigo and Bahco. I'm starting the replace my gear as it breaks with snap on, as once you buy it you have it for life.

I guess I'll buck the trend, can't stand powerbuilt in fact I've given it all away .... lifetime garintee  only if you don't break it from use!! .... here's something for ya Blackwoods Paykels stopped stocking it becouse they got sick of the returns  I've had claims on sockets, spanners (didn't like that one, turned into a bit of an argument) pliers (these were absolute crap, especially the circlip ones)

I've got Starwillie, Kokan, Teng, Sidcrome, Kingtony all lifetime stuff that the local tool shops (who I know well 8) recomend) each is bought on its merrits, like my screwdrivers Kingtony becouse the lobe shape handles rock

Cheers Reece

Tool

Post by AF1zuk »

At work I have used a wide range of brands from Stahlwille to Snap -On and Britool. Thanks to the taxpayer!!

My personal tools are mostly Repco (bought at discounted price) as they are very similar to Snap-On stuff. I now buy Powerbuilt except for tool that you buy for one off job. All my long handle and 45 and 90 degree pliers are Ware-whare specials!

Anything that has a Lifetime warranty is always handy - and try and get a Chrome Vanadium tool - good and strong. I personally prefer the shiny triple chrome plate finish as they are nice and easy to clean!!

At the moment all my air tools are cheapys from Mitre 10 Mega, but hope to get some form the US - USATCO (US Air Tool Company) make some really nice gear. Pricey though.

I'd have to agree. Powerbuilt haven't hacked it for me at all.

I have a powerbuilt socket set and it does the job but isnt the best. Have had a few breakages but they have always been repaired at no cost. Have reciently started buying snap on and will never go back now.

I've heard a lot of good things about "snap on".
