If I could get a 97 3.1dt Wizard for cheap would it be very expensive/hard to convert it to a manual?
Cheers

Wizard....manual conversion?
You should be able to do it by getting a 5-speed from a Wizard (don't think I have ever seen one) or a MU (rare but out there) and the pedal box / clutch master cylinder. Should all be simple enough to fit.
I sold mine for a similar conversion and apparently the chassis mounts are different between the auto and the manual, but thats probably the hardest part of the swap I would think

A Wizard is just a 5-door MU so yep, can't see why it wouldn't... one more thought tho - you would need to get driveshafts modified... the front one is probably going to be too short and the rear too long as the 5-speed is a shorter box than the auto from memory... Its all do-able tho...
Could be a costly exercise tho... you would have to really want to have gears over the slushbox... You'd want to do the clutch - theres $500 AT LEAST and the cost of a 5-speed and flywheel could be easily that again for a cheap one... and that again in labour at least... and that again in driveshaft mods... and probably that again in incidentals...

The guy I sold my MU 5-speed to had been through that - either they are different or he got a bum one... I suspect they are different tho... best to just find either a Wizard or a MU one I would think... an Auto for a Wizard or MU should be easy enough to track down just to do a swap-out... prick of a job tho I would guess, having worked on a few of them now...
