80s Hiace

Post by fweddy »

Have just come in possession of a 80s Hiace (Round head light model)

Was a diesel, now converted to Petrol (certed etc). WOF and Reg just on expiring now. Engine has issues. Rest of the van is pretty good, tyres, body had rust work 12 odd months ago, brakes etc all done 6 months ago, redone radiator etc.

Any interest to any one? complete or parts?
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

You are going to have problems getting rid of the van whole due to a new law for shuttles at the airport letting them be a maxium of 10 years old by the end of the year so at the moment there is about 30 vans for sale and as the time wears down there prices will drop

Its a 1985 and got the 3Y engine, was 2.2 diesel but converted and certed.

Not 100% sure what's up, haven't looked at it yet (not that I'm an expert any way :? ) but apparently the water from cooling is ending up flowing out the exhaust!

Everything else seems pretty good but it is a well used van (446kms). I've know its history since early nineties and its been a good wee van but age catches up on us all. Will suit a runabout. the last owner used it as a hack. He spent the money on engine conversion, radiator, tyres, body work etc and when it did this to the engine he gave up and went got a mitzi!

Open to offers for it as is or will consider splitting for parts. Will work on getting a pic up.

Driver's and passenger's are odd too! Has mounts for a rear seat, can pick them up cheap

Open to offers at this stage - I'd prob get more for it selling parts (5 good tyres, recond rad, new brake parts, and all the other various parts that work all work and are in ok condition) but an offer for it complete as is WOF & REG till the weekend would take it off my hands easy.

Might trade me it otherwise
