did you sell the rally car fella?? i would suggest the 8's as they will give more height to the sidewalls....??? therefore more diff clearance :?:

Not sold yet, just planning ahead  , dunno if the width would effect the height of the tyre, but thought maybe a narrow rim will make it a better climber, could use side wall better???

I would think that with 8's you could run lower pressure without popping them off the bead, they have pretty soft sidewalls so they are not to bad, I had 32 mtr's on 7 inch rims and was going to put 33's on the factory 7's as well (cheap/free) until i got all carried away with size, since it matters and all.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

I'd put them on an 8 inch rim if I was you, as Rangimotors says, easier to run at lower pressure for better bagging, only downside is they do seem to have real soft sidewalls so a narrower rim gives you a greater risk of damaging the sidewall.
If you are going to be certing them you'll need them on an 8.5 inch rim minimum. (manufacturers approved rim width is 8.5-11inches.)
