2lte problem

Post by Nailz »

Just got a 91 ln130, With the intentions of swapping the 2LTE for a 3L in a couple of months.
Well day two and i blew a hole in the radiator top tank, Water pissed everywhere, lots of ugly orange boiling water.
Towed it home.
The next day topped up the water and tried to get it started and it wouldnt run.
there is no creaming either on the dipstick or the oil cap. there is no oil in the water.
It didnt over heat according to the gauge, and i killed it as soon as i discovered the problem.
Any ideas as to why it won't run.....?
or any people out there with a 3L going for a reasonable price?
Cheers

when you say its not running is it turning and not starting? or not turning at all?, was the blowout anywhere near the electrics? could be a sensor? maybe try pulling the battery off for a few hours and see if this clears the computer?. how high up the temp guage did it get http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/tempgauge.htm

It is turning but not starting.
No it was right at the front, most of it came straight out the gap under the bonnet.
it got just past half way...
Ill try that thing with the battery after i get a new radiator from the wreckers.

if you get a radiator from a wrecker before you put it in get it cleaned and get the top tank pulled off and the tubes rodded so you have piece of mind that it will cool it and not over heat and crack head due to core bein blocked internally.
needs more curry
