Lock nuts

Any one got any ideas to get lock nuts of wheels with out lock nut adapter
Any help would be great

you could try vice grips or if you have a welder you can weld a nut onto the locking nut then undo it

we get an old socket that doesn't quite fit over the nut and bash it on and gently remove it that way.
80 Series on 35" creepies, manual with twin factory lockers.

You can buy a similar socket tool from Repco and other places and a lot of workshops and tire shops will have them in store.

skid is on the money. doesnt need to ga all the way on. just far enough to get a grip. then once the nut is cracked, put a socket extention on it and wigle it untill it comes off. then remove lock nut by hand. works a treat.

I do what Skid does, although i have had one which was too tight, so a ran a couple of tacks between the socket and the locknut for added purchase.

As for non-destructive methods, no idea as I've always been in a hurry when I've needed them off :)
