New toy

Post by Nailz »

Well I had been talking about it for long enough and finally did it. splashed out and got myself a 93 swb manual 1KZTE solid axle Prado.
Super happy with it too.
Paid a good price, its in relly good condition, low ks etc .....
ImageBut standard is no fun so after a quick trip down to delta 4x4 I made it a little bit tougher.
\
50mm dobi spring lift
Raw Nitro adjustable shocks
Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 33x12.5s on the front
Maxxis Buckshot Mudder 33x12.5 on the rear + same spare
full set of new ROH 15x8 rims
Safari Snorkle (yet to be fitted)
unifilter
etc...bla bla blaImage

I was thinking about putting a front locker in it too but not too sure on what type to get.
Any sugestions...asides from an ARB set up

I was able to get the baja claws at a real cheap price but just for two. Ideally I wouldve got all four as baja claws and a baja belted as a spare but...money ya know...... should be able to afford two more for the back sumtime in the near future though. with them on the front I should be able to make my way around the south coast without getting stuck...maybe

Nice .......

I see its still got those stupid toyota electric hubs....you will want to do something with those at some stage....have a look at the mod I did to mine, otherwise I still have the spacer plates which will allow a set of Free Wheeling hubs on it. Keep the damn thing cool as the temp guage lies sometimes like the surfs, these Toyota Alloy head motors are prone to cracking if you cook them / cook them regularly. install a 2nd temp guage, I may have some 12v temp alarms avaliable cheap for ORE members soon (still working on this)

The handbrake drums will piss you off, after you see any mud pull the wheels off and the wheel hub thingys and wash them out, the stone guard plates trap stones so remove these or chop the bottom part off, look at a nice big fat exaust.

Has it still got the aircon installed? you will find mud gets trapped in the aircon condensor and the radiator which is a bi#ch to clean.

If you need towhooks PM Stinky he has them on the shelf at work cheap, he can help with barwork as well.

Locker.....lots of debate here, can get F & R auto lockers however I personally prefer the ARB's as you can switch them off, do the rear one first

Rallywoods working bee this weekend ......you should make an appearance with your LANDCRUISER

MarkR who is local and IcedJohnno ...hillbilly on here have a KZJ95 like yours.......the others are just jealous of our coils when they have hillbilly cart springs and our cupholders and comfy ass cushioning seats

nice cruiser jnr!!

So would that make your Zuk a Zuk Jnr

Stick the mickeys on the rear, otherwise they will wear alot faster that the buckshots expecally those sidelugs and edges you want. You may find you get better traction aswell.

I cant afford ARBs. And someone else told me to do the front first as it would aid to pulling through sand etc with the micky ts on the front
