On to the radiator now.

Changed the leaking factory radiator and got done around 9:00 last night. Hardest part was swapping transmission cooler lines over without emptying it all on the floor. Took it for a spin to test and heard strange noises from the rear.

Spent this morning cleaning and adjusting rear drum brakes. Noise gone now mostly, but there is something else that is not entirely happy somewhere in the rear. I had planned to go for Maratoto clean-up/tree planting, but Jeep brakes had other things on their mind. I am seriously very close to getting rid of drum brakes to make it easier to maintain.

and also had a cry at pick a part. As we were driving there a guy in a fairly nice FJ40 went round the round a bout in front of us and went into pick a part. Thought oh yea sweet as.

Turned out he was selling it to pick apart for $330. I called all my mates and no one picked up. Forgot to call my mum who had money we could have used to buy it. I offered him $500 for it by the end of the day and he just wanted the money now. It was a mint runner, didn't idle but no smoke, fiberglass bonnet and rear doors, god bumper etc. and bets of all the reg was still live.

I will be talking to the manager at pick a part Monday morning and seeing if I can get it off him whole and with plates Monday. Just too good a truck to go to pick a part. bloody old idiots. Said he bought it on trademe and it was worse than what he thought so he just wanted rid of it. FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK

Do you have fuel in the rail? If so check the injectors are firing.

Matt.

cheers man i have no idea what the f@#k is up with the pos coz she fired into life first pop lastnight
oh well gotta get the alignment fixed this week stupid mate hit the curb at speed and f@#ked it

Those sort of issues are often electrical/sensor related. Failing wiring into crank or can sensors is a good one as is earth lead issues.

It might reappear.

Spent my weekend with a mate pulling a motor out of a friends Pajero as it had blown the original 3.0 V6. Managed to get the old motor out and the new on bolted up although some of the wires for the injectors and distributer are different so the stopped us from getting it running. Got the auto sparkey to come up tomorrow night to have a look at it.
My old man fitted a second alternator to the winch truck on Saturday, next job for that will be rear mounting the radiator :D

Got the Falcon home all sweet. The Bighorn definately got a workout being a SWB. Got my Low range to High range shift on the fly sorted no crunching now :) esp when taking off on the hills with roughly 3T behind it.

Noticed some clunking from either the suspension or body mounts as it was twisting quite a on taking off so will go over those during the week to make sure they are all tight.

Now I have a 2001 Falcon Im wrecking if anyone wants some bits. I managed to get most of the bits off that I need. Motor and tans are mint done 225kms still driveable for now.
