my hilux surf 1kzte viscous fan hub never locks up , i have replaced the oil in it and it hasnt done eff all, i would like ot adjust it to lock up earlier, how do i do this?

pull the fan off the motor, apply heat from heat gun to spring on front of viscous, see which way the valves turns, you then need to pull the other end of the spring of the ali housing,and tweak the spring to make the valve be "on" more when the spring is put back into its seat, if you over do it then the fan will never turn off. tweak it back then
did it yesterday to a rover viscous

so if it moves clockwise i need to make it move more clockwise , and by tweaking the spring you mean, streting bending or will there be adjusting nuts of sum kind to reposition it?

what oil did you use? cheap stuff or Toyota OEM
Toyota viscous fan oil comes in 3 different grades/ viscositys , and quantity must be exact.

Or just buy a new viscous hub for $120 from BNT. Problem solved.
