that engine doesn't look right.
its silver top not black which typically indicates the early engine but its got 2lte turbo gear fitted which normally doesn't fit the early ones.
someones welded in a pipe where the butterfly system normally is.

My 2L-TE has the same silver top. It has had a 3L head fitted so I am guessing this motor for sale is a turboed 3L or at least a 3L head on a 2L-T block?

Good score. Did you suss what was wrong with it? It almost sounds like the timing belt is a tooth or two out?

of the top of my head if you use 3l glows in it then it will work fine with the old 2l glow system in the hilux. hilux will be a timer setup. the 2lt had a dual stage superglow system and i think it used 9v glows instead of the 12v glows hilux uses.

simple answer.......no.

big bore only if its 2.8 and highly recommended for the 2.4 as well.
having said that it won't die if your drive quietly but keep running full noise and the extra backpressure wil cause high egts and eventually kill the engine.
